1. Could we share data service through that plug an ordinary SIM card into the HSPA data card?
Data service needs support provided by ISP, so you need to check that you have the right to share the service and gain the relevant APN. You have to change the configuration of HG if the configuration demanded is different with default configuration.
2. The ADSL connection breaks when I answer a call. Why?
Generally, an extension is connected to the ADSL cable without a splitter. Connect both the main unit and the extension to the splitter.
3. The signal of the WLAN is weak or unstable. Why?
The possible reasons and solutions are as follows: (1) There is strong magnetic field or radio waves in the nearby area that interferences the wireless network. It is recommended to keep the HG away from appliances with strong electromagnetic fields, (2) Place the HG in the open area to avoid the wireless signal attenuation caused by the obstacles, such as concrete wall and board wall, (3) Your computer is too far away from the HG. Shorten the distance between your computer and the HG, (4) A thunder-storm may affect wireless signals. It is recommended to use the wireless function in a comparatively good weather.
4. The LAN indicator is off. Why?
Check as follows: (1) Ensure that you are using the appropriate network cable, (2) Ensure that the network cable is connected properly, (3) Ensure that the indicator of the network adapter is on, (4) Ensure that the network adapter is running normally. You can check it as follows: Right-click My Computer to select Properties. Choose Hardware > Device Manager. Check whether there are devices with the ? or ! mark under Network adapters. If there is such a device, delete and re-install it. Alternatively, change the network adapter slot or replace the network adapter. If the problem persists, replace the network adapter.
5.  Could we share data service through that plug an ordinary SIM card into the HSPA data card?
Data service needs support provided by ISP, so you need to check that you have the right to share the service and gain the relevant APN. You have to change the configuration of HG if the configuration demanded is different with default configuration.
6. The WPS function is out of the way enabling the WLAN service of HG?
    (1) Check the wireless network card supports the function of WPS or not. (2) Check whether you have enabled the function of hiding WLAN SSID or not. Disable this function in the webpage for WLAN service, otherwise we couldn’t use the function of WPS correctly. (3)We need to active WPS negotiation process between HG and the network card when we hope to enable the function of WPS, and the time for activation can’t go beyond two minutes. (4) Make sure that there has no configuration files used before in the wireless configuration tool of Windows. Old configuration files may result in a failure of importing configuration information to the wireless configuration tool of Windows, though the WPS negotiation has succeeded.
7. Can I use the terminal as a DHCP server?
Yes, you can. The terminal incorporates the DHCP server software.
8. How can I quickly restore the default settings of the terminal?
To restore the default settings of the terminal, power on the terminal, press and hold the RESET button for a minimum of six seconds, and then release the RESET button.
9. Why does the ADSL connection break frequently?
Various factors can cause the problem, such as access server failure, line failure, line disturbance, network adaptor failure (low speed or earlier version of driver), or the HG failure (quality and compatibility). You can check as follows: (1) Make sure that the ADSL cable is connected properly, (2) Keep the HG away from appliances with strong electromagnetic fields, such as a microwave oven and a refrigerator, (3) Make sure that no telephone or fax machine is connected directly by the ADSL line, (4) Abandon the Ethernet network adapter that adopts the industry standard architecture (ISA) bus. Use the 10 M/100 M Ethernet network adapter that adopts the peripheral component interconnect (PCI) bus. Meanwhile, use the latest driver. If the problem persists, contact the service provider.
10. Question 10: The ADSL indicator is off. Why?
    Check as follows: (1) Ensure that the telephone line is connected with a splitter properly, (2) If the telephone line is connected with a junction box, ensure that the junction box does not contain a capacitor or a diode, (3) Ensure that the telephone line works. Test it with a telephone, (4) Ensure that the telephone is connected to the splitter properly;
11. Question 11: Why I can’t log on the local maintenance webpage of HG?
    (1) Make sure that the physical connection between the computer and HG works well. (2) Check whether the computer configured with correct IP address or not. We suggest you configure the computer with DHCP mode for gaining IP address automatically. (3) The computer has to be configured with one IP address selected from 192.168.1.2/28~192.168.1.14/28 if you hope to configure the computer with a static IP address manually. (4) Make sure that the computer configured without Proxy Server.
12. Question 12: Why my computer could scan and gain SSID, but the connection fails while enabling the WLAN service of HG?
    (1) Check whether the client application supports the present manner of wireless authentication and encryption provided by HG. (2) Check the configuration of MAC address filter and make sure that the wireless network card used is in the appropriate access range of MAC address. (3) Look over that which users have access HG through wireless connection in the main page of HG and make sure that the total number of the users hasn’t achieved the upper limit of 8.
13. Question 13: Why sometimes the network rate is so poor while using HSPA as the uplink?
    (1) Basing on the 2G network the bandwidth of data service is low, so the speed is so poor while the signal of 3G network isn’t very well meanwhile the HSPA device registers to 2G network mode. (2) Besides, data service of the mobile device shares the bandwidth with other services. That is to say the bandwidth bears all the services of the BTS and it is shared when many users connect to the BTS. Thus, the bandwidth belongs to everyone will decline sharply.
14. Question 14: Why the calling with the number of the HSPA device is unavailable while using the HSPA data card as uplink?
    (1) Observe the HSPA indicator is blue or not. If the LED is red, this indicates that the HSPA device hasn’t registered to the network correctly or needed to register with PIN number. Register with PIN number or wait for a moment until the HSPA device has registered into the network. Besides these, you could plug the HSPA device again in order to make the HSPA device registered again. (2)Check the condition of the network is well or not. You could examine the signal of handset that is near to you or plug the HSPA device into PC for checking signal in the background. (3) If the data card has registered to the 2G network meanwhile it is processing data service , we couldn’t calling from outside with the number of the HSPA device.
15. Question 15: Why the throughput of WLAN is extremely low while enabling the WLAN service of HG?
    (1) The transmission medium of WLAN is different from that of Ethernet. If there are lots of WLAN exist in present location, especially when lots of WLAN concentrate in one channel, channels of the network will disturb each other, and these will result in low throughput in WLAN. (2) Sometimes the throughput of the network card which supports 802.11g will decline to half of the normal value (11Mbps). This is mostly because that there are other WLAN or network cards which supports 802.11b exist in the wireless converge area of HG. When the network 802.11b and 802.11g all exist, the condition that HG enable both 802.11b and 802.11g in the same time will result in throughput declines sharply. The throughput will resume in a few minutes after the jam source which supports 802.11b is off. (3) When there is a far distance or there are too many shields between the computer and HG, throughput will be influenced because that the signal strength has been influenced. And while we test the throughput, please don’t move HG or the network card because changing the relative position will result in the decline of throughput and sometimes this even leads to the interrupt of the connection.
16. Question 16: Why the voice quality is poor or calling with noise while using HSPA data card as uplink?
    (1) If this problem appears, check the condition of the network is well or not. You could examine the signal of handset that is near to you or plug the HSPA device into PC for checking signal in the background; (2) Check whether there is EMI source near to the HSPA device or not. (3) You could augment the distance between HG and the HSPA device by adding the length of USB cable between HG and the HSPA device in order to prevent from co-channel interference. (4) Adjust the direction of the HSPA device and set the trail part of the HSPA device a higher position.
